A good invention to keep the tempo: The drum set

In military and orchestral music settings, drums and cymbals were traditionally played separately by one or many percussionists. The bass drum, snare drum, cymbals and other percussion instruments were played by hand. Circa 1890, experimentation with foot pedals began.Liberating the hands for the first time, this evolution saw the bass drum played (first standing) with the foot of a percussionist and became the central piece around which every other percussion instruments would later revolved.Today Ludwig-Musser, William F. Ludwig Sr. and his brother Theodor Ludwig founded the Ludwig & Ludwig Co. in 1909 and patented the first workable bass drum pedal system, paving the way for what was to become the modern drum kit.

A good song by system of a down: chop suey

"Chop Suey!" is the first single from System of a Down's second album Toxicity. The single was released in November 2001 and earned the band its first Grammy nomination. The song's working title was "Suicide"; the band members claim the change was not caused by pressure from their record company. The words "We're rolling 'Suicide'" can still be heard faintly in the album versions's opening second though this intro is only on certain pressings of the album.

The music video, directed by the acclaimed Marcos Siega, is set in the parking lot of a motel in Los Angeles, hometown of the band. The band members are on stage, surrounded by approximately 1,000 fans, performing the song. Editing devices are used to create the effect of the band members "walking through" one another and teleporting on and off the stage. One scene briefly shows Tankian eating chop suey with some fans, the only reference to the title dish in either the song or the video. The video also makes use of the SnorriCam technique, in which an actor will have a camera attached to them with a harness. This technique makes it appear as though the background is moving and the actor is stationary. In the middle of the video the Armenian flag can be seen.

system of a down, the beginning

At the beginning system of a down was two members: Serj Tankian and Daron Malakian. They really have fun to play in their garage so they have recruited the good bassman Shavo Odadjian. A little bit after they take John Dolmayan as a drummer.The name system of a down is taken from a poem Daron Malakian, Victims of a Down they changed victim by system because all victims are part of the system.

Now I'll gonna show you the order of the albums.The first album that appeared is toxicity in 2001 in the same year they sold steal this album. After a three years period they shelved Mezmerize and Hypnotize in pack of two. we can also find this to be consistent in the songs. For example, the first song is called Mezmerize Soldier Side - Intro. In a very short time, it leaves its meaning open to Soldier Side, the last song on Hypnotize.
